HOCKEY EVOLUTION

Aspen Ice has a program for all ages and levels of skaters. From beginner to advanced, we will have a program for you. Take a look below to find out more specific details about Learn to Skate, Learn to Play, and Hockey 101! If you have any questions, full out the contact form below.

Learn to Skate – Hockey 1

Learn to Skate—Hockey 1 is for beginner skaters who will be learning how to skate in hockey skates. Coaches will focus on skating skills such as falling down/standing up, forward skating, stops, backward skating, and more. No sticks and pucks. Full gear is not required, but can be worn (helmet recommended).

Skaters must pass this program before registering for Learn to Play. If you believe your skater is passed this level, please contact Katie Hannemann at marketing@aspen-ice.com to set up an evaluation.

Saturday      1:15pm to 2:15pm (ages 4 to 6)           1:45pm to 2:15pm (ages 7+)
Sunday        1:15pm to 2:15pm (ages 4 to 6)           1:45pm to 2:15pm (ages 7+)

Learn to Play – Hockey 2 & 3

Learn to Play – Hockey 2 & 3 is for skaters who have been evaluated by an instructor and/or passed Hockey 1 in Learn to Skate. Coaches will focus on improving many of the skills learned in learn to skate; faster forward skating, hockey stops, faster backward skating. Skaters will also learn many new things such as crossovers, turns, and introduction to stick and puck. Our Learn to Play program requires full gear. Saturday 7:00am to 8:15am                  Hockey 2           Hockey 3

Hockey 101 – Hockey 4

Hockey 101 is for all ages of skaters who have passed Learn to Play – Hockey 3. Skaters will continue learning new skating skills; backward crossovers, edge work, quick starts, and more. Skaters will be introduced to positioning, game situations, and more advance hockey drills. This program requires full gear.
